What Are the Major Benefits?

Physical therapy may help patients

  • Manage pain naturally
  • Avoid surgery
  • Improve mobility and movement
  • Recover from injury or trauma
  • Recover from stroke or paralysis
  • Prevent falls
  • Improve balance
  • Manage age-related medical problems

We offer an array of modalities to help patients. These include the following:

Spinal Traction

Spinal traction is a type of decompression therapy that relieves pressure on the spine. It can be performed manually or mechanically.

Spinal traction is utilized to address herniated discs, sciatica, degenerative disc disease, pinched nerves, and many other back conditions. Traction also helps with sports injuries.

Rehabilitation & Exercises

Dr. Hoover provides a step-by-step exercise program that he customizes for each patient. He’ll demonstrate how to do the exercises in the office, and then teach patients how to do them at home. Many exercises start with stretching. No physical equipment is needed. What he uses, including bands and balls, can be easily purchased. These work well in helping strengthen injured areas.

Electrical Muscle Stimulation

E-stim sends mild electrical pulses through the skin to stimulate injured muscles or manipulate nerves to reduce pain. Muscle spasms can be alleviated with this therapy.

Ultrasound

Therapeutic ultrasound uses high-frequency, inaudible sound waves to address a wide array of soft tissue injuries.

This modality addresses swelling and inflammation and promotes healing at the cellular level. When high-frequency sound waves are directed to the soft tissues and joints, the elevation in temperature increases blood flow to the region, relaxes muscle spasms, boosts metabolism and promotes your body’s healing response.
